Standard parts or Military parts - Help please?

Post by Saltydog » Fri Nov 02, 2018 3:32 pm

Good afternoon, Newbie here, so please be gentle with me :-)

I have a 1976 series 3 2.25 petrol lightweight/Air Portable, and it is in need of a little TLC:

1/ Front leaf spring bushes (or may replace complete leaf spring set)
2/ Radiator repair/replacement
3/ Floor pan panels - both sides (where the pedals come through)
4/ Exhaust system
5/ Driveshaft seal - O/S/R

I have been told that on Lightweights, some parts are 'standard' & some are 'non-standard/military'; My question is are the items that i have listed above, standard series 3 parts, or are they military.....?

I would be very grateful to anyone who can offer me guidance here please?

Many thanks

This topic was just discussing springs yesterday - i think this answers your question but I'm no expert as mine had parabolic fitted when I bought it which makes me some kind of heretic to many on here!

Hi Ridgy,

Thanks for the link on the suspension, however.......everytime I try to access it, I just get told that the 'site is on the move, back soon'....?

Would you mind posting it again please, as maybe the link went 'dead' when the site migrated last week.......??

Again, many thanks
