Re: 10 or 11 tooth?

Just what I wondered, and happily have managed to patiently rebuild another old 11-toothed stater motor among my spares - and it works!
(ps - aye, the sight and sound of the pipes and drums at our annual Lonach Games in Aberdeenshire is a magical experience.)

10 or 11 tooth?

Does a Lucas Bendix 10-tooth starter motor fit a petrol Lightweight, or does it have to be 11-tooth version?

Re: underbonnet starter

Thanks for that, Dormy. Think I'll give it a try - and make sure I always have the old lightweight out of gear first!
On internet sounds like the starter solenoids in old British cars often had a similar version with a push button, and apparently Land Rovers?

Has anyone fitted one of these? Wondering about the wiring.

Re: Correct seating - 1968

But reliving my youth had its limits, particularly on Aberdeenshire potholed roads! However, try the li...

Re: Lightweight series 2a 1968

Re the link there - the cushions/squabs on my '68 Lightweight are original very basic versions and thin. No angle to the base and no ply base board.
Rather tatty, being cracked with age, but I used an old industrial Singer machine to made some covers out of army canvas.

no headlights

My headlights have stopped working altogether - no high, low beam or flash - although sidelights, indicators, horn etc are all ok.
Anyone tackled similar problem?

Re: Military lightweight door hinges and complete doors I am having trouble sourcing

I sent off registration from the military vin plates and received the history of my ex-Army 2A from the Royal Logistics Corps depot, and later RAF Lightweight from the RAF Museum Hendon. Contact details are online.
