Thanks for the reply. tires are new and correct pressures and supension I hope was checked on recent MOT. but I have checked them and do not seem to be overworn or damaged. Could a prop shaft or dammaged diff cause these symptoms.

I had the same problem,I have a later lightweight it seems it was a cross over part (I was told). part number that fits mine is NCR 9494 but please check with other members as they are very expensive.

I had the problem trying to remove nut with trumpet, I caused more trouble bashing the spanner as it didn't fit nut tightly as it has to be at an angle to fit inside pully wheel,it just rounded nut making more trouble. I have to add that it is a civilian 109 so the fuel tank is at the back of vehicle not under seats just incase this makes a difference.
